Why e-learning?
Vestas has 20.000 employees in 93 countries and expects to hire
3-4.000 new employees every year. That demands a flexible and
effective introduction program.
The decision to start an e-learning based introduction program
was made to address a number of strategic challenges. These
challenges include securing that new employees all over the world
are introduced to Vestas in a uniform, flexible and effective way
in order to enable them to act in a constantly growing
organization; and also to create a global understanding for Vestas'
value chain and culture.
Vestas has established a central unit focusing on e-learning and
effect measurement. This signals that the choice of e-learning as a
learning tool is not a one-off phenomenon. On the contrary, Vestas
has launched several e-learning solutions since the Induction
program, with positive results, and further launches are planned in
2009.
