The effect

The effect

The immediate effect of the program is clear: Measurements show a high learning effect and significant change of attitude. The program meets 70% of the learning targets, which is a significant improvement of Vestas' results so far. Furthermore employees spend less time on their introduction which leads to perceptible savings.

The effect measurement is based on a test filled out by 1.750 employees before and after going through the program.

What do the effect measurements show?

The level of knowledge relating to the learning targets shows an average of 36% in the pre-test and 81% in the post-test. That means that the program's overall learning effect is 45 percentage points. This is a high effect compared to other courses, where the effect generally is about 40 percentage points.

Regarding the changes in attitude the effect of the program is high as well. For instance, there is a significant rise of 62 percentage points as to the question whether the employees feel ready to handle the challenges they may meet.

Altogether the numbers show that the program meets 70% of the learning targets - a significant improvement of Vestas' results so far.

The measurements also show that 67% of everything learned has been transferred to the job. This is a high number compared to the overall transformation measurements in Vestas, and it equals 2/3 of the learning targets.

E-learning improves the bottom line

In an e-learning program it's possible to take on four times the learning targets compared to a class teaching session within the same time frame.

In other words Vestas has saved two work days per employee by introducing the Induction program. For a company with 20.000 employees and 3-4.000 new employees every year that means a considerable saving.

Statements from the users of the program

"…before I used the personel handbook and manuals - today I prefer to use Induction, SAP courses etc."

"…e-learning is the right thing. If only we had had e-learning when I startede in Vestas…""…e-learning is the completely right way to communicate in Vestas - everything else is too much trouble…"
